Always get a receipt…My husband and I were driving home (Los Angeles) from my baby shower in St. Louis (our hometown) and we stopped in Amarillo, TX for gas and a quick rest at a gas station that has a place to park and rest. This was a little after 6am. My husband got gas and some sandwiches and we parked in the area designated for resting to sleep. We awoke to our car being surrounded by about 8 police cars and a cop tapping on my window. They said that the store manager called and said we had been there all night and seemed suspicious. They pulled my husband out of the car, and because I was visibly pregnant, they attempted to be gentle with me. After a few minutes of being told we were there for hours, I asked the cop what time it was. He said 6:41, I said pm? He said no, a.m. I asked if it was the date (don’t remember the exact date), he said yes. I told him we just got there and found the receipt. It said my husband purchased gas at 6:23 am…we weren’t there for 20 minutes and they had us surrounded. The cop showed the receipt to the other cops and they told us that the store manager made a mistake and we can get some rest, we got the hell out of Amarillo.

Yes for sooo many reasons. To make sure they not conning you, if they saying you stealing, for chargebacks etc always get that receipt
