I think it’s bc the movie basically shows us Jennifer the way needy perceives her. Jennifer is just as much of a loser as needy, except she’s gorgeous (not that Amanda seyfried isn’t LMAO) but like needy doesn’t think of her that way and doesn’t know why they’re even friends but Jennifer isn’t even really popular or anything lol

marketing for this movie was male centric. i worked at a video store at the time (here’s some journalism) also, it’s why they call the dallas cowboy cheerleaders “cheerleaders” they’re a dance team/pom team. comparatively, the ravens finally actually have a cheerleading team.
