You might remember my reel a while back where I showed how Aldi’s soy sauce was mostly water, sugar and salt and contained only 10% soy sauce extract. This wasn’t my first soy sauce reel, one of my earliest supermarket swap reels was on soy sauce and it’s still one of my most viral reels. People were so shocked to learn how different the quality can be between different brands of soy sauce - just like with the first Aldi soy sauce being only 10%! Out of all my swaps I think soy sauce is probably one of the ones people have swapped out the most. And supermarkets respond to demand so I feel fairly certain this is why we’re now seeing this new soy sauce product in Aldi! They’ve listened to what people are looking for and this new product is the result - made with just soybeans, wheat, water and salt - the way it should be! Seeing these small changes on supermarket shelves is why I believe so much in what we’re building together—more awareness, more demand for better quality products, and the impact of that is now we’re starting to see real improvements in our supermarkets.
