Because of her lineage, she became a possible heir to the Iron Throne, but the Great Council of 101 AC chose her uncle Baelon instead. She married Corlys Velaryon, and together they had Laena and Laenor. Rhaenys was the rider of the dragon Meleys, and during the Dance of the Dragons, she supported Rhaenyra. She died in 129 AC, at the age of 55, during the Battle of Rook’s Rest. Corlys Velaryon, known as “The Sea Snake,” was born around 53 AC and was the Lord of Driftmark. From a young age, he became one of the most famous sailors in Westeros, making numerous voyages to distant lands and gaining a great fortune for his house. His wealth and power made House Velaryon one of the most important families in the realm. He married Rhaenys and became an important figure during the Dance, supporting Rhaenyra.
