@sean_hollis: Four years ago, I got dropped off at my second rehab lost, scared, and empty. I didn’t know much about prayer or what a relationship with God looked like. Most of my prayers sounded like, “God, if you get me out of this, if you help me stop drinking and drugging, I promise I won’t do it again.” Through the 12 Steps, I learned how to be honest with myself, take accountability, make things right, surrender, and help others. I still live by those principles today. Somewhere along that journey, I found myself at the foot of the cross. I started a fast last week without realizing it would end on my 4 year sobriety anniversary. I like to say, “Is it odd, or is it God?” Sometimes all you can do is smile at God’s timing. I am proof that no matter how far gone you think you are or the sin you’ve lived in, you are not defined by your past. Four years ago, I was asking God to get me out.
