@freakytechreviews: Sony says buying a digital PlayStation game means you’re purchasing a license, not actually owning the game. With Sony also moving away from physical games, that raises a much bigger question: if “Buy” doesn’t mean you own it, should they even be allowed to call it buying? And if buying isn’t owning… sailing the high seas isn’t stealing. 🏴‍☠️ #PlayStation #DigitalGames #GamingNews

If you buy a game digitally if they ever take the game away from you or the game becomes unable to function due to a server shut down, you should 100% get your money back

The best thing that’s come out of it so far is them clarifying that you actually have ownership over your physical games. Before they open their mouths, the license on a physical game was identical to a digital copy, they just granted you privileges associated with ownership such as the ability to lend, trade or sell your games. But they explicitly associated those things with ownership in defense of their digital licenses and they can’t put that genie back in a box, so it is safe to say that the license associated with the physical game resides with the rightful owner of the disc and you have for sale rights to the copy.

This started with Valve/Steam. It’s a slightly edited EULA from Valve’s original one. As for “nobody can shut down the plastic on your shelf,” that’s legally and technically untrue. You own a license to the contents on the disc and the physical property itself. They can (but won’t) disable specific discs and block them from running on their hardware. You are BUYING the license. You’re not purchasing the game itself, you’re just buying the license. I’m not sure how y’all keep running into this illogical loop. lol

They simply applied the idea for software to run Windows, adobe, or anything else to games No one lost their minds then cause then they bought a license to use it. They could use it forever even when it was fully supported. Cause you as a consumer had the right to use it unless you wanted that new version with more features

Pc hasn’t had disk for over 10 years, that lawsuit will more than likely fail because it’s in the Eula that you’re just BUYING a license.

The point that gamers aren’t uniting on this issues is disturbing!! Some people aren’t gamers they just play games! There is a difference if you understand simple English
