USA has been importing beef since the Obama administration I really don’t understand why all of the sudden ranchers are complaining also I thought the ranchers were building a processing plant I’m over the complaining ✌✌✌

So if it gets too expensive to put the last 200lbs on them. Then it becomes more open pens, quicker rotations out of the yard means quicker rotation in the yard. Higher demand. Any thoughts on that?

I tend to agree, it could still get very interesting. Sounds like maybe your hog feeders ran empty and you just filled them all up and everybody’s hungry. 😂

I have said this for months...I have often wondered how the pounds produced vs the amount of head grown...I remember when you used to get dinged for 1300 lbs and now you can feed to 1700-1800 without a problem...Cost of operating (parts,equipment)IMO has been more of a drain than the corn market

I agree the story is just getting started. People were still getting long in eight dollar corn in 2012 and 2022 and $121.67 silver in 2025. Both collapsed.

My opinion. If you have feeders that will be ready the first quarter of 27 and ample feedstuffs. Better to retain ownership than sell as feeders.

if the markets persist, you're going to see another round of dairy farm wipeouts. a lot of farms have found their profit in cull cows and cross calves with milk barely breaking even.

I think it gets way more interesting. Frankly I don’t know if we’ll ever over come it. I know that’s a crazy statement. Either demand comes down or we import the difference enough to cool prices a lot. But that just means less and less US producers and more imported cattle from Mexico or imported beef. That’s the future I expect because the numbers don’t add up. Producers aren’t making up the difference. There’s not enough people becoming producers. More and more are retiring. I would say things look bleak for the average American hoping to buy lower priced beef for the future.

I've never understood the relationship. High corn should mean cheap cattle, but that doesn't seem to be reality. Takes expensive corn to make expensive cattle.

I was talking to a friend about that a couple days ago. Feeders can really get hammered if we see the $7 corn some are talking about. This is all going to lower the beef supply more about the time this special beef import deal ends.
