NO LEAF CLOVER #1 FAN :
i was never a fan of harry potter. it always seemed unoriginal to me, using tropes i had seen hundreds of times before in books and movies. i watched the harry potter movies when i was around 10 or even younger. recently, i rewatched them because my girlfriend is a huge potterhead (i still wont read the books because i hate rowling), and my mind didn't change. the films didnt blow me away, especially since im older now and had read a lot more. however, i didnt really remember snape from my childhood watches, so rewatching felt like seeing him for the first time. i immediately liked him. maybe because he's constantly annoyed, cold, and seems to hate everyone while still caring about everyone except himself? i instantly knew he wasnt the one cursing harry during that quidditch game. i noticed how he secretly looked out for his students despite everything, and i honestly loved how rude he was (probably because im pretty rude to people too, except for my girlfriend lol). later, when he killed dumbledore, my first thought was: "he did that so dumbledore wouldn't die at the hands of the enemy." well, i wasn't entirely right, but i was close! and when harry finally saw his past, it wasnt a huge shock to me because, again, ive seen those tropes before. but k realized his character makes so much sense and is genuinely so well written. i absolutely adore him.
