We live in the Phoenix metro area where it’s around 1000ft elevation. Two hours away is Flagstaff which is 7000ft elevation. During the winter my husband will drive to Flagstaff to ski in the morning and back to Phoenix to play a half round of golf in the afternoon!

Just remember that we sell clothes in America, so whatever you don’t have you can buy they also have unbelievable thrift stores where you could buy stuff and not even worry about bringing it home

Girl I feel you, leaving Saturday for Oregon from Texas and I am struggling. Doing the coast for 3 days, a day trip up to Mount Hood, a day trip up the Columbia river gorge. Temp ranges for low 50’s and night 70’s.

Just went to Montana in August and packed a light winter coat, fleece, raincoat, jeans, leggings, swimsuit, dresses, 2 pair of sneakers in case it rains to have dry shoes, flip flops, heals and dresses for evening meals! Exhausting! 😳 it was 40 degrees in the morning in the mountains and 90 degrees in the canyons 😬

I always pack lightly and usually I don't buy trinkets and other dust collectors I buy clothes. Yes you have to bring them home but I'd rather travel light and pick up stuff as I go along and then when you go home you say oh this sweater is from Montana this is the hat I got in San Diego that's just what I do there are so many great things to see in America have a great time and be careful

Good luck and be careful of the weather in the mountains as it gets into late September/early October! Nights will get cold and snow/ice can come in fast. Lesson I learned pretty fast myself 😅

Tell Ollie when he plays golf in the mountains to ask the pro shop where the lowest point of the mountain is. No matter how much your putt looks like it goes right or left, it will always go toward that lowest point the pro shop told you. It’s very mind bending at first, but so much fun. Enjoy!

For the PNW all I can say is 😂 pack for comfort, keep in mind the potential rain, just bring a coat with a hood. And if you are going to stay at the two hotels I mentioned earlier and dining at Canlis,(I really hope you do!) bring some evening attire
