XRPL is being built for more than payments. Ripple is backing an institutional credit fund being developed by Clearpool and Cicada that could eventually allow businesses to borrow RLUSD through infrastructure built on the XRP Ledger. Credit checks and underwriting would happen off-chain, while loans, interest and repayments could be managed on-ledger.
