@breakawaywithbrooke: if you relate, I’m so sorry. the comments are a safe space if you want to share what happened to you. I see you. I’m sending you my love. #sa #assault #consent #bwbkitchentherapysessions #MentalHealthAwareness
I’m at such a loss. The police refused to make a report on my situation because I “didn’t say no”. 😭💔 it kind of heals me to hear someone else’s story right now. Thank you. 💗

I shared with my ex when he wouldn't leave me alone about wanting to get back together that part of the reason I would never is the amount of times he forced me into situations similar to this. His response to me "You'll never be able to undo what we did." And somehow I'm still more embarrassed it ever happened than angry at him for it.

My SA experience in HS was done to me by a close friend’s mentally disabled brother. I brushed off his touches for so long because I thought they were accidental. Always touched me going up stairs right behind me. I always thought it was accidental grazes and because of his diabilty I never really thought of it as SA. Until I told my friend about the “strange coincidence” that kept happening. She promptly told her parents and they pulled him from public school. I didn’t reconzie the experience as SA until YEARS later when I looked back on the whole situation. I never considered myself a victim or shared my story because it never had a true impact on me and wasn’t explicitly vile like what so many other women experience. My heart goes out to you and the countless of other victims 🥲🥲

thank you for talking about this, I'm currently a sophomore in highschool but my freshman year was full of repeated sexual assault from someone that was friends with me and my friends, so they never knew anything was wrong untill I told them about it later. wasn't directly in front of others but no one would question him saying he was going on a walk and wanted me to go with him, no one else would've known how mad he would get if I didn't go, and I'm not going to say the things he did to me but you get the idea, so thank you for helping others understand that its not in just dark alleyways or under bridges, it's in normal places that people wouldn't think anything was wrong from the outside.

there was a boy i liked. i agreed to something that i regret agreeing to to start with. i said “stop”, “that hurts”, “i don’t want to continue”, and he just continued. and i just felt like maybe i didn’t push it enough that i wanted to be done. maybe that it was my fault. no one knows. not my parents because they’d be mad i said yes in the first place, not my friends because they’d judge me i feel. i feel alone.

Why do so many men think it's ok to do that to someone in public and without consent? I keep hearing about this all the time.
