You probably don't know this about me... But I was born and raised on a rural farm in a small coastal community in NZ...With pleeenty of after-school chores, chasing runaway cows down the road (or the beach), opening and closing a million gates (IFYKYK), galloping UP hills only! or my horse would buck me off, and learning to drive in paddocks and gravel roads before I even hit double digits in age 😅 I always envisioned my future including acreage... And although I have literally NEVER lived in a house without a garden or veggie patch (even through uni!)...This did actually hold me back for a long time. But since jumping all in and establishing my edible gardens here in the suburbs of Perth..without a cow or paddock in sight... I have come to realise just how much food you can actually grow in an urban space! Space is so under-utilised and even though i am a still a long way off what many other urban gardeners have achieved in less! It is so rewarding to learn to be more efficient and mindful along the way. Maybe one day I will end up back in the wide open space, but I know for sure my gardens will always be compact and high-density...because variety and diversity creates something magical! P.s yes my uniform is the winning combo of leggings and flannos 🙃 Let's grow some food! 🌱🌸🥬🥦
