Right now Codex Pro 20x at its theoretical max usage is $14,000 worth of equivalent API cost a month for only $200. Claude Code Max 20x is only $8000 worth of equivalent API cost. And that’s before factoring in the fact that Fable 5 and Opus 5 take twice the tokens to come to nearly identical outputs as Sol and Terra meaning your $8000 only gets you ~29% of what Codex would give you. And that’s with Sol being only being about ~1.6% worse than Fable. It’s just a no brainer at this point you’d have to assume Anthropic is intentionally trying to shake off as many customers as they can.

Not the ChatGPT push on social media 😭. I’m a Data Scientist and AI consultant in Italy and EVERYBODY uses Claude, but here on TikTok it’s full of paid influencers and bots in the comments saying that everyone switched to chat. They are really that desperate huh? Lmao

For some promts I worked on Fable, it took between 10-20 dolari per promt from usage credits. 20 dollars per promt..😅

Claude was 100% justified at price point when fable 5 originally came out. Then they flip flopped a million times and similar preforming models came out at like 1/10th the price and they STILL only let you use half your weekly usage for fable

I ditched Claude for local AI. 4x V100 32gb, 256gb ddr4, and a 40 core cpu and I’m able to do a lot more and feel more secure in my data. Yes I will never break even but it’s fun to experiment with. All in I’m down only 2k for the v100s since I got them when they were at 400 a piece and I got the server from a local hardware recycling company

The problem is they are making Claude dumber to waste your tokens. Like how in the hell do I have to repeat instructions to fable about basic things like what port the server is on when sonnet I only had to do it once and it remembered it for the whole build.
