i know innocent people go to prison, but i never actually considered that they could be the victim of the crime the are accused of. i always pictured a misidentified bystander or something + a mistaken real victim, not the perpetrator playing the victim. this is like institutionalized DARVO. brutal

I believe people take plea deals even though they are innocent because they have no way of proving their innocence. The circumstantial evidence is there so they have to weigh that as a factor. Do we go to trial and risk getting way more time or acquiesce and just take the plea. So many innocent people are incarcerated that shouldn’t be because they don’t trust the legal process.

I’ve taken Ambien a few times and not remembered anything of what happened so the idea that Lindsay could be on drugs and wasn’t herself doesn’t seem so far-fetched to me

Exactly, exactly, she didn’t say she did it, that’s the most defense that will win the case, sometimes lawyers will tell their clients to say they did it to get less time because he think that he will lose. And many were found not guilty after admitted to it because they found another lawyer.
