Once you get one romance language down solid, EVERY OTHER ONE is SO MUCH easier to see the patterns

Langue by language is the best. I'm German, so I learned English and French in school. I taught myself Danish in uni and then later started improving my French again. And even in those languages I could constantly find similarities to English or German.

How are you determining your level? I am at a similar place in Spanish (A2/B1) but because my skills are uneven I feel as though I can’t get a good gauge on which skills are more B1-ish and which need more work.

Currently B1 in German (living in Switzerland) and I have not tried to do any other languages. I want to start another but I feel like if I don’t feel solid in German then another language will slow my German and potentially confuse me.

Honestly, for me helped to get a solid foundation in one language until I started the new language and I have like a B1-B2 level of French before I started learning Romanian

Been learning Japanese and Korean casually for the past 15 years. Most words are similar. Started Chinese this year, and you can say I already amhalf way through A1 becuase of the same reason: I know a couple of characters already because I learnt them while learning Japanese.

I would get to a B1-2 in a language first and than use that language to learn the similar one
