I didn't like Mr Rochester at first, I straight out thought he would be the villain 😭 but in the end he managed to grow on me, he was a powerful man that thought he could have it all with no consequence and got humbled by the narrative to not take everything for granted. I also liked how he could have let bertha die in the fire but still risked his life to try to save her and the other servants. On another note, have you noticed the similarities between Jane and Bertha? I read a really interesting paper that explained really well and I'm obsessed!

I was really disappointed when she came back to Rochester but when she first left, the way she didn't have a second thought and knew she had to do it, was thinking about how she didn't deserve it was so beautiful. Although she considers herself dull and boring, she's such a great character.
