it absolutely is a passenger safety issue. as a Air force member, when you marshal an aircraft out and instead of salute you do the sign of the cross, you would absolutely be in major trouble. Just like a Muslim saying Allahu Akbar would get in trouble on an airplane a Christian should and would get in trouble preaching on an airplane.
