@bricksnblooms: There’s a reason you’ll find hydrangeas tucked into gardens all over my property. They’re one of those shrubs I can count on to do a lot of heavy lifting without needing a lot from me. Depending on the type, they can bloom for months, add structure and fullness to garden beds, mix beautifully with perennials and annuals, and keep looking good as the flowers age into fall. And that’s a big part of how I approach creating an easier-care flower garden. I’d rather repeat plants I know will perform well than constantly reinvent every garden bed. Hydrangeas have proven themselves here again and again, so I use them throughout the property to create repetition and help tie all of the different garden spaces together. Plus…can you ever really have too many hydrangeas? 😂 Are hydrangeas one of your garden staples too?
