@adventureswithgabygaby: Taking my grumpy husband to the Maryland Renaissance Festival in 80° weather! Rookie mistake though, the spirits went down way too easily because of the heat and we stopped at Dash In for snacks on our way, so we weren’t even hungry. We got there around 11, which was apparently a terrible time because traffic. It was HOT. The husband surprisingly didn’t complain even though I know he was hella hot too. I eventually tired myself out after about 3 hours. Although I just had a turkey leg and 2.5 beers, I loved seeing all the Renaissance costumes and honestly the people watching might have been my favorite part. I also have a grumpy husband that I drag to renfaire several times every year. Here’s how you get him to like it. Step one : don’t let him wear jeans in 80 degree weather. (I dress mine like a peasant in loose linen) Next take him to O’shucks for oyster shooters (they come with alcohol) sit in the shade and eat/drink it takes mine about two rounds then he’s fine for the next few hours. Repeat this process till you feel like going home.
