@theanxietymama: Sometimes the resentment isn’t “you’re doing nothing”. It’s “Why am I the only one whose brain is still working?” If you know this feeling you’re definitely not alone. ❤️ #momburnout #anxiety #momlife #overthinking #momanxiety
"Nobody talks about how resentful you can feel watching your partner relax when you technically could relax too but somehow can't" So you can relax too, but can't, and that's somehow his fault?

you have no idea how exhausting it is to be with a woman who has such control issue that if things aren't done on her schedule the exact way she wants, she gets upset and accuses you of "not seeing" the things that SHE decided are now necessities.
he will do the dishes when he sees they need to be done. A couple dishes in the sink is not an emergency and relaxing while they sit there is not a problem 🙄

After spending years in the manufacturing industry, I did the stay at home dad thing for a while. It was an absolute vacation. No intense heat to work in while wearing heavy PPE. No production numbers to hit. No quotas or deadlines to meet. No problems to solve. Nothing heavy to lift. Nothing labor intensive. Nothing difficult. No machines to repair while burning sweat dripped into my eyes. No workplace drama and no boss breathing down my neck. Dishes, laundry, dusting, sweeping, mopping, cleaning, disinfecting all completed before 10am...all done in the cold AC while wearing the clothes I slept in. Groceries? Ordered online and picked up. Scheduling appointments? That's a phone call and an entry on the cell phone calendar. Bills paid online or by phone. My stress meter never moved. Didn't need to "decompress." Didn't hit her with a list of grievances or problems when she came home. Turns out that a lot can be done in a short amount of time if you don't wait for commercial breaks, scroll/post/reply on social media or exchange endless texts with the bff. I suspect that it's not a workload problem. It's a time management thing.

I work 60 hours most weeks he is at home watching tv on his days off. I shouldnt have to come home to a sink of dishes or laundry to be done. It’s the lack of consideration

Sometimes it’s something so small like leaving clothes on the floor or leaving the microwave open. It makes me so upset for no reason. I feel like he doesn’t notice anything

It is incredible that women don’t realize this is a personal anxiety problem they like to call the “mental load”

none of it matters on your deathbed. it's about the memories and time you've spent with people. I understand if your husband does nothing but some people love to be in a state of low level manic thoughts/can't settle.

some of you don't get it. I work like this. and I know it. I'm working on it. it's not fun for me either. it's just how my brain works. I notice these things and it's like this itch I can't scratch unless it's done now and it's done right. and sometimes I wait because I'm tired and I want to relax too. but then 3 weeks go by and I'm overstimulated and it's screaming at me to be done and no ones noticed it, I'm the only one that notices and I don't know why, and it bothers me that it doesn't bother you too. it's not that yall don't do enough, or that we want you to be stressed with us or anything like that. we're tired of our own brains being like this and not understanding why yours isn't too. it's heaviness that's so hard to describe.

not people are mad at this. because if everybody just relaxed....nothing would get done. dirt accumulates. bugs come into play...hair,dust, etc. or your kids or pets may not be tended to. and with one person doing it and making sure to actively work on these things causes a shift in dynamic.

"Babe, what are you doing? Come in here and sit down with me"
Uhhhh... You left a liquid on the wood table (which is uncovered because you got the tablecloth wet and stained and it never got covered again) which will leave a mark, so I have to clean that up, then se the crumbs and clean those too. Realize there is random water around the kitchen sink, wipe that down too. Now I have to pee and see ALL the little issues in the bathroom. Then realize there is laundry to be done before zi get too comfortable and lose track of time, so I head upstairs to get that, notice the stairs are dusty -log that one away for later, along with all the things I didn't do yet in the bathroom....
"Nah Babe, I gotta clean up a bit"
