Gah. I used to have a really nice fig tree before we moved. I had to replant some fig trees at my new place and I cannot wait for them to start producing 😭 we love figs over here.

I have a fig tree and I can tell you that they are not delicious unless they are completely ripe. you definitely just eat them skin and all. I noticed when they are tree ripened they remind me of peaches. when they are picked a bit early I make jalapeno fig jam with them and it's amazing

Were they ripe? As a Middle Easterner, I steal them from my white neighbors tree bc they never eat them. You can can try peeling off the outside and just eating the inside, try mashing the gooey bit like avocado and smearing it on toast with warm Brie. I don’t eat meat, but I hear it’s also nice with prosciutto.

Cut them in 4ths in big wedges & eat with cheese for a decadent treat. I have a fig tree and have made all kinds of things with them but adding a bit of fat is really all they need. Any cheese, a stinky bleu or oniony cotswold or medium cheddar or pieces of an American cheese slice fresh out of the plastic are all yummy!

I love figs but sadly only that grew on a tree in France. They were glorious. I couldn’t stop eating them. When I buy them in the US at the grocery store they are sorely lacking.

I love them, they’re my favorite, so I’ll eat them basically any way they’re served. But I did have wrapped in bacon and grilled like you might ask scallop. With a goat cheese crumble. Incredible.

I eat them warm off the branch. I twist the stem off and split it open with my thumb. I need to pick them now…

I like fig newtons but I can’t imagine I’d like just the fig without the newton. I don’t like when my snacks are divorced.

They have to be super ripe to be full-sweetness. You ate it correctly haha. Or you can do a bacon-wrapped fig with a cheese in the wrap and baked.
