I was told by a specialist for my son with autism that 80% of folks with autism have a GI issue. 😳 EIGHTY PERCENT?? We got an endoscopy and sure enough, acid reflux and EoE. Made dietary changes and he’s waaaaaay better. Go get him checked out!

Ultrasound to check gall bladder!! I lost 35lbs before I got a diagnosis. My upper abdomen constantly fell full and like I had horrible gas. I was constantly bending forward to hang my belly to relieve pressure!

Have you checked his teeth? I know the dentist is hard to do,I have a special needs daughter and I had to go to a specialist who would put her under anesthesia

For non verbal kids we find that most of the time it’s dental, intolerance or UTI. Not medically serious but causes incredible discomfort.

Was literally just typing “get a stool sample tested” before I realised you were basically getting to that point in your video. I had similar symptoms and recently got mine tested which came back with really high calprotectin levels. I’m due to have a colonoscopy at the end of the month. Fingers crossed you find answers!

This may seem odd, but there is something called “chronic appendicitis “. I had on and off pain right at my belly button for months. I did endoscopy/colonoscopy with no answers. The dr decided to take out appendix but really just look around for an answer. He only took the appendix so the insurance would cover the exploratory surgery. The appendix looked visibly fine, but pathology came back and my appendix was really infected inside. The surgeon fully believed that was my on and off pain. I felt great after and never had another issue. My pain was never super bad, just a constant ache that was truly annoying. My blood work never showed anything, including fine white cell count.

Hi, I’m autistic and I have a migraine disorder that had me look into the link between autism and migraines and 40% of autistic people suffer migraines and migraines sometimes aren’t just a headache they can feel like numbness, visual disturbances, tingling, weakness, nausea, confusing and scary symptoms

Do the endoscopy. My daughter’s intestines were collapsed. Acted normal but wouldn’t eat. Get dental X-rays while sedated if possible.
