Halfway across, I noticed a man standing on the side of the road. He wasn’t near a car. He wasn’t holding a phone. He was just standing there, staring toward the water. As I passed him, he suddenly turned his head and looked directly at me. I kept driving. A few seconds later, I checked my rearview mirror. He was gone. ⸻ I thought nothing of it until my phone buzzed. A notification appeared: “You have arrived at your destination.” I looked at my GPS. It showed something strange. My location wasn’t on the bridge anymore. It showed me standing in the middle of the water beneath it. I refreshed the app. It didn’t change. Then another notification appeared. “Location shared with: Unknown.” I immediately turned off my location. A few seconds later, my phone buzzed again. Someone had sent me a photo. It was a picture of my car driving across the bridge. I hadn’t taken it. I zoomed in. The photo had clearly been taken from behind my car. I looked into my rearview mirror. My back seat was empty. Then I noticed something in the photo. The man from the side of the bridge was standing directly behind my car. I slammed on the brakes. There was nobody behind me.
