Day 4 of Kindergarten for my little one. She came home 2 days and “taught” me what she learned. She did a compound word on Friday and yesterday was rhyming! My reading specialist heart burst!!

I usually do half of the “words” in each section because they seriously can’t focus for the whole thing and I also break it up throughout the day until they build that stamina.

how do u get the enthusiasm for a full day of school? are you just a ball of joy even outside of the classroom? I am so jealous of your enthusiasm during your videos in ur classroom. whenever I do this with my children I get so mentally exhausted... idk maybe this is just me. 😅 I am not a teacher. I wish my kids had u as a teacher, not that my kids teacher are bad, your something special 🥰

I started with one page for the first week added an extra skill from the second page at week 2 and now we are able to do two full pages this week! Still have a little more to go but they can do it!

If there’s six under each skill I will usually at the beginning of the year do 3-4 for each skill and work our way up

You have to sell it! I have seen so many teachers sit back and not put the necessary enthusiasm into it!! You have to sell it! They feed off of your enthusiasm. Then they get to they point where they are upset if you don’t do it one day!! ❤️❤️❤️

Heggerty is amazing!!! If you’ve never done it it can be slow but once you have it down it may take 5-10 minutes. They also have videos that can help. If you do amplify testing it’s practice for that. I love it!!!

Our class used to love Heggrty FAST. It was a challenge. Do the easier ones fast as a challenge and the. others regular. It becomes a habit and they ask if we are doing heggerty.
