I wish I could articulate this as well as you. I was cheated on the same week I lost 3 family members. It’s been a year now and I can’t bring it up on this app because people tell me to “get over it” and they can’t decide how I talk about my life etc so thankyou I appreciate this post

this is an immature take. as someone thats been cheated on, i dont see the point in continuing to bring it up. if you’re not gonna be willing to let it go, just leave the cheater & heal. why stay & hang it over their heads?

I’m told to get over it and or the typical speech I said I was sorry (followed by verbal abu,,,), or just let it go as they repeat their actions over and over. Yes one can walk away and heal from things, but it’s never just a flip the switch get over it scenario. Those who have never experienced will never it sadly

The fact that the person hurting you can never take a step back to acknowledge that they’re hurting you. Even when you spent years building something with that person. It blows my mind how cruel some people can be after they make you fall in love with them.
