Okay, so this is actually not true. Our anthem was written before Nazi times and has three verses. So during Nazi times they simply used all of it as the German anthem but since 1952 we only sing and use the third verse officially.

The German Anthem changed in 1991. not before. The Deutschlandlied was until then the official anthem in all 3 parts, where just the 3rd part was sung.
