This response doesn’t actually respond to what I’m saying. You said ‘there are 200k elective surgeries per year’ and my point is that sharing the number of elective surgeries tells us nothing about whether those surgeries were necessary or not. The only reason that elective surgery numbers alone would be used as a ‘supporting detail’ is if there is a fundamental misunderstanding of the term. It’s an otherwise useless number without further context.
