I'm not fully convinced it wasn't the mother. I think he just got his pride bruised and pouted over it before returning after realizing he was being a lil bitch. Hes treated her more like a person and you could see his feelings for her grow. Mom never did that, only went straight to selling her ass off. We all know that was more for her benefit than Mizu's.
