So a few questions: what task/disability requires the dog to be off leash and what task is the dog actively doing for it to reasonably be that far away from you? From my perspective, you are using loopholes in the law to be an irresponsible handler in a public place.

Why is your dog 15 feet away from you though? If its not preforming a task, using the bathroom, getting help, or finding someone, why is so far away? There is no point for that

Not sure why you think leaving the store excuses the behavior you allow your dog to display OFFLEASH in non pet friendly stores. People are walking in and out of those doors, if anything— that's the time where your dog should 100% always be in a heel or on leash.

I swear people having an issue with this dont understand the law 💀 ive let my previous servive dog run out in front of me like this at the zoo in an empty part of it to let him have a bit of freedom for a moment. yall no were in the law does it say service dogs have to be in a heel this dog is very clearly under control

You are quoting that a service dog doesn’t need to be leashed if it interferes with your disability. But your dog walking out in front of you is not a task. It’s just you wanting to show off your dog being off leash. And this makes zero sense. Just because a dog is well trained and that’s great it’s unnecessary. If the dog was next to you I probably wouldn’t care as much. But as a service dog handler if I saw that I’d probably have a heart attack as why would a handler let there service dog run ahead of them. There’s no task that makes remote sense for them to be doing this. Please be a good role model as a handler and leash them or keep them closer this is unnecessary and you’re just trying to be flashy
