always hated how we never got an official explanation to what was actually happening here. Why did he absorb the dragon balls? where did him and shenron go? why was he just chilling as an adult when Goku Jr was a kid and pan was super old? I like to think he basically became shenrons replacement and watched over the dragon balls. making sure only good people made good wishes

Idk if it’s in this or the next episode but they show Pam with her grandson at a fight tournament and she talks about how goku was dead and the child is named after goku ,goku jr he’s also fighting vegeta jr and then there’s also like a special bonus movie where the kid goes out looking for the dragon balls because Pam is dying and he meets Goku at the end and saves her

so if anybody is wondering what happened, its never been officially confirmed but Goku actually died when he pushed Vegeta out the way of Omega’s Negative Karma Ball attack. However during that, Goku somewhat made a wish (in the same manner he did against Buu leading to Uub’s birth.) Where he acknowledged their abuse of the Dragon Balls to revive the earth but he needed the power to beat Omega in exchange for never relying on the Dragon Balls again. It was there where he gained Heavenly Enlightenment and truly became immortal. Thats why Vegeta and Master Roshi immediately picked up on what happened to Goku and why Vegeta told Pan to take care of his clothes and why Roshi wished Goku to thank Shenron for the Dragon Balls. Toyotaro back when he went by Toyble made the DBAF manga where it explored what happened where Goku and Pikkon went to the realm of Shenron to train and he achieved SSj5 thats when the whole thing with Xicor happened and we got to see Gohan achieve SSj4
