I think this is such a good example for people! Especially those who say “that’s too hard I could never do that”- yes it’s hard but it’s worth it. I’d take this heartbreak time and time again to give pups a break and a good day♥️thank you for what you do!

I did this once— highly recommend giving these dogs the day for exposure and love/kindness but WOW DID I SOB HORRIFICALLY. The pup I took out was adopted a week later though 🥹

I lost my lab a year ago, one day I was feeling sad, I went to the shelter to spend one day with a dog, just one day, I went and looked around, and I paused when I found a German Shepherd curled up in the back of his corner. I decided to take them out. Best day of my life, my shelter has a 72 hour takeout days when they 72 hours ended I went back, but not with him, I went to adopt him, I don’t know if he needed me or I needed him but it was the best $101.75

this is why I cant do these anymore. I would literally try to take them all home 😭 I had 7 dogs at one point 😂

Thank you for taking her out!! Volunteering is such a selflesd thing to do! It sucks returning them but they deserve a break from the chaotic shelter, it gives them hope. ❤️

Every time I see someone who gets emotional about a shelter dog they’ve taken on a dog day out, I tell them…they are 14x more likely to be adopted with ANY time out of the shelter. Every little day out helps them in huge ways! Thank you for volunteering your time to help save a life!❤️
