From the article I read, the man, Jake/Jacob, who was interviewed in the hospital was charged for this accident. It was found that he had a BAC of double the legal limit and was speeding when this occurred (they believe 25mph to 35mph over the speed limit). Also when this happened he was out on bond...for you guessed...yep a previous DUI!!! He has been charged with aggravated DUI causing death and reckless homicide and currently in jail. Even though he and his lawyer tried to get him out saying he couldn't receive proper medical treatment while in jail and also said he isn't able to drive right now(which I guess was supposed to make the judge and people feel better 🙄) due to injury but the judge wasn't having it and said no he can get the medical care he needs in jail. The young lady who was killed was 27 years old and left behind a 3 year old child (this was back in 2024 and I couldn't find that he had been sentenced yet). I hope he gets a good long sentence!
