@leonalee.theopossum: We missed Jolie’s gotcha day! Jolie came to us on Aug. 17, 2025. She had been found as a little baby by someone who had a kind heart but no knowledge of how to properly raise an opossum baby. Unfortunately this lead to Jolie developing Metabolic Bone Disease (MBD) which is a painful and deforming disease that can lead to death. MBD occurs when opossums are not feed a proper diet. Fortunately her finders were directed to us and let us take over her care. When Jolie got to us she could not walk, pee, poop or eat on her own. Her arms and legs were not where they were suppose to be and she was painful. After months on a proper diet, physical therapy, pain medication and a lot of patients she was able to become an independent lady. Jolie will never be a perfectly abled body opossum but she is healthy enough to enjoy a long and spoiled life with us. It’s been our pleasure to bring her back to health and be her PossFamily, cause it takes a village. Happy Gotcha Day Jolie.
