It worked out in this case cause the book made it to general, but if they ever did an edition that sold out during sub access it would put people that purchased book 1 in a position where they can’t complete their sets unless they pay resale which is gross. Huge advocate for first access for previous buyers regardless of sub status

Yeh I think in today’s economy, keeping book subscriptions aren’t exactly sustainable… I’ve had to cancel mine because I just can’t afford it anymore. I do think there should even be a tier where it’s not general access but prior subs get priority before general

ooooh see I only know Broken Binding, and they give first access to anyone who bought the earlier book I believe (like I am fairly confident first access to The Strength of the Few went to people who bought The Will of the Many)

I think you should still get early access but only if you got it originally of the site and not off Facebook/second hand I just had to cancel mine and im still holding out hope for the rest of Spark of the Everflame series

You should absolutely get first/early access, I'm actually shocked they don't still provide the access once you unsubscribe! I had to cut back on subscriptions this year as well, and Bookish & Spice didn't make the cut for me 💚

I think it makes sense to prioritise people who are still active customers of the book box, but then provide early access to book 1 purchasers before general public sale
