I beg to disagree, Sir. Too often, self-interest outweighs the common good, and many Filipinos have become so accustomed to poverty that long-term progress feels less important than immediate survival. We once stood among Asia’s more prosperous economies. Today, countries that once trailed us are moving ahead while we continue to fall behind. If we keep making the same choices, history will repeat itself. We need to choose leaders based on competence, integrity, and accountability, not personalities and short-term benefits. Otherwise, we risk losing yet another generation.
