I saw a take a while ago that said the reason certain men see women only as schmex objects is because they have been taught since birth that anything remotely feminine - talking about feelings, sensitivity etc - is worthless, and that the only valid form of expressing closeness is schmex. They don't realize how broken and sad that is, as well as obv wildly dangerous and dehumanizing to women.
