We don’t have to lecture every young person we meet or pretend like we have everything figured out. Sometimes, being a good example is already enough. There might be a younger brother, cousin, nephew, teammate, student, or even just some kid around you who looks at the way you carry yourself and learns from it. So, show them what discipline looks like. Show them how to respect other people. Show them that being strong doesn’t mean you have to be violent, reckless, or constantly prove something. Show them that it’s okay to make mistakes, take accountability, ask for help, and work on yourself. Because sometimes, people don’t remember the advice you gave them, they remember the example you showed them. Whether we realize it or not, the younger generation is looking up to the people who came before them. So let’s try our best to become the kind of people we wish we had around when we were younger. We’re not going to be perfect examples. We’re still figuring life out too. But we can at least try to be good ones.
