Lindsay Clancy's former nanny testified in her murder trial in Massachusetts that Lindsay told her she "had postpartum and that she couldn't sleep." "And as a result of that, you were pretty concerned for her, weren't you?" asked Clancy's lawyer Kevin Reddington in cross-examination today (Wednesday, August 5, day 7). "I really don't know much about postpartum, but ... I would always ask her how she was feeling or how she was doing," Elaine Rossi answered. "Do you recall her ever saying she had difficulty focusing on things?" Reddington asked. "I don't recall her saying that to me," Rossi answered. "How about thin? Did you notice that she appeared to be losing significant weight?" Reddington asked. "I did, and I commented to her about that," Rossi answered. "And fair to say that during that period of time from your involvement, Ms. Rossi, as a nanny, that you sent her videos of the children playing, and as we saw, the baby taking the bottle, and the baby eating and things of that nature, right?" Reddington asked. "I did," Rossi answered. "Did she ever send you any videos, or did she ever respond to your emails or videos?" Reddington asked. "Yes, she responded to every - most of my texts she responded to," Rossi answered. "She seemed to be appreciative of your work?" Reddington asked. "Yes, very much so," Rossi answered. "And and in fact, she was pretty vocal about that. She thought the world of you, right?" Reddington asked. "Yes," Rossi answered. In re-direct, Shanan Buckingham, an assistant district attorney in Plymouth County, asked if she had "any conversations with her about intrusive thoughts or thoughts of harming yourself?" "No," Rossi answered. Clancy, 35, is charged with three counts of murder for the strangulation deaths of 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson and 8-month-old Callan on Jan. 24, 2023, at their home in Duxbury, Massachusetts. Her defense is that she's not guilty because she was psychotic due to postpartum problems and didn't know what she was doing. #law #crime #court
