people don’t want to risk their suitcases being nicked especially if they have expensive/sentimental items in it, same reason why people don’t use the luggage racks on trains and will keep their cases with them by their seat

Not really a hack is it, it’s the designated space plus you have multiple bags they have small carry ons that easily can sit in front of them

most people hold them so no one steals it, and so wheelchair users can use the wheelchair space or buggies when not needed by wheelchair users

Or just... avoid the Piccadilly as much as possible and use the Elizabeth line instead? The only reason you'd stay on is if you've got heavy luggage and are coming from the northern end of the line.

Thank you so much for doing it properly! As someone who uses the Piccadilly line every day it is so annoying when people have their cases in front of them and block the access for people trying to get on and off the tube 🙏

I hold the strap, and when busy would have my hand on the bags. Because they’re immediately next to me. No further than the people with it in front of them. For everyone talking about it getting stolen. My point is, upright you have to stop it rolling the whole time. Flat takes no effort. Also this is not a wheel chair area it’s a luggage area. And most on this train were empty and had an empty seat next to them. Ok bye.
