@saitore_v: There's always something about people who volunteer around me. Their lives just go UPHILL 🥹 Let me tell you about Ann. A lawyer by profession. She bought a ticket to our Virtually Versed event the moment I announced them. Then she texted asking to volunteer as an usher. She had ALREADY paid and still wanted to serve. I didn't even know. It gets better. Ann traveled from MOMBASA to Nairobi by bus for this event. I had no idea. I was ordering her around doing usher duties not knowing this woman took a bus across the country to show up. When I found out she'd already paid for a ticket she was volunteering at I told Viola we need to refund her immediately. Fast forward to last week. "Good morning Saitore. I have good news. I got a part time role and was onboarded last week." She applied for a legal VA position she wasn't even qualified for. Never trained in legal VA before. Secured an interview after months of rejections. They went silent. Then responded with her FIRST positive response after so many nos. Her words? "Thank you for the Launch and Land Bootcamp. It was worth the investment. This is just the beginning." I'm not saying she got this opportunity because she volunteered. But I've noticed a pattern. Monica volunteered as an usher at Virtually Versed 1.0 and landed her first client less than a month later through Stella Assistants. Now Ann. Rejections are just redirection. Give back when you have the chance. You never know where your blessings find you. Congratulations Ann. That makes seven legal VAs in my mentee circle now. SEVEN.
