The cop was only hit in the chest. He was able to get up and get to cover and then shot buck in the head. Succumbed to his injuries. Even though Buck was in his full rights to defend himself and his family against an armed intruder breaking into his home, the courts, even after admitting the force entry was illegal, sided with the cop simply because the cop had identified himself as law enforcement. A great injustice to him and his family in my view.
