@sydneylimaa: ‘Ugh do you have such a chip on your shoulder about ‘rich parents’? If you're working class and want to work in the arts, the door is not just closing but swinging quickly shut on you. Working class representation in UK creative industries has dropped from 26% to 19% in three years. In film and TV, it's fallen to around 8%. State primary and secondary schools are cutting arts education due to severe budget constraints, core-subject prioritization, and policy shifts. Working class voices in the arts are being erased as they can't afford to take on free internships and I'm looking to speak to those who can potentially admit they've had it a little easier; this is nattt a guilt trip. IT'S A CALL TO ARMS. Mentor someone. Give honest feedback on a portfolio. Pay someone for their time instead of offering "exposure."
