Agreed, but the target audience here is the grandparents. We're raising kids and working full time jobs. We have soccer practice, conferences, and we're helping with science projects. I'm trying to go to the gym, meal plan, shopping, and prep, make time for my husband and I to stay connected. We need grandparents to step up! Pick up the kids from school and take them for ice cream, invite them over for sleep overs, order a pizza that we can all share and watch a movie when we pick the kids up from your house. We're maxed out so planning yet another event for the grandparents to join is, yes, a priority but it's not going to happen nearly as often as we want it to if we're the ones left to plan the whole thing. If you're a grandparent, ask if there's a night you can come cook with us, order in, bring a board game, I'm down for it. The mental load of planning needs to be shared here. I've asked my in-laws to take our child for a single night so my husband and I could go out on a date and the amount of times they told me they were busy, weeks in advance, became too many to count. I just stopped asking, and now my kid is a teenager and they're so confused why she is hesitant to hang out with them alone. She doesn't know them! Sorry, we know time is running out, and it breaks our hearts.
