my favorite photo of the IRL Dazai is literally him pouring alcohol

PICXAL :
Nerding out here: Osamu Dazai (the IRL author) was severely addicted to alcohol and this fact was heavily mentioned in his autobiography (No Longer Human)! So I think the bottles of alcohol in BSD Dazai’s room was kind of a call-back to that fact!

Salmon :
I hate how people perceive Chuuya as the alcoholic but in reality he just collects expensive wine as a hobby and likes to enjoy it from time to time, he’s just a light weight drinker and gets drunk easily. Meanwhile Dazai drinks WAYYYYYY more😭😭😭 like haven’t you guys seen the scenes where he was drinking HARD LIQUOR whiskey at the ripe age of 16???😭😭😭

The real life osamu Dazai who our beloved Dazai is based off had a servere drinking problem and depression so it’s very canon and I think they expressed osamu Dazai very good true the character hope that helps if your interested in Dazai’s life he wrote books you can read I have read a couple of them and Dazai feels like a close person to me his writing is beautiful and so is the story of his life
