alternative search engines: duckduckgo, startpage, mojeek (optional ai, ez to turn off) alternative browsers: vivaldi, librewolf (both proudly anti-ai & have built in adblockers)

Yes ai powered by green energie still produces co2. HOWEVER they use green energie, this type of energie is made from plants that not long ago took co2 from the air. And because the co2 that ai powered by green energie produces is exactly as much as the co2 that the plant had taken from the air, the ai had no additionele co2 to the ecosysteem! I am not stating that ecosia is perfect, however please keep educating yourself about the topic.

ecosia only installed ai to keep up with competitors, they literally disclosed they would’ve preferred not to and don’t even own the data centre nor is it a new one, hence why the ai is less efficient than more popular ai. also the ai is completely optional?? like you have to specifically click it, there’s no auto summary. it’s a non profit company and unable to be sold so they have to use ads and keep up with consumer demands if they want to fund their movement. though the greenness of their ai is 100% exaggerated to the max. i’d love to see your sources ?? other than the lack of knowledge fallacy. i had to read a lot of peer reviewed journal articles on ecosia for my university essay so id be happy to link those if you’d like. Ecosia isn’t fault free but no technology- especially search engines- are. i’d also love to hear where you found the comment from the anonymous employee.
