I agree that he got rusty, but you’re giving WAY TOO LITTLE credit to Moore. He’s a mage 🧙🏻‍♂️that can shorten his spells to a fraction of the time, a season warrior ⚔️with THOUSANDS of years of experience in the battlefield, and he’s also Atofe’s personal strategist 🧭. He fought in the two Great Human-Demon wars and survived the First Dragon God's 🐉 Great War. It could even be said that he’s older than the world of Mushoku Tensei (actual). The reason Rudeus seemed so worn out was because Moore knows how to deal with mages.

not at all moore is just EXTREMELY skilled and was chanting counterspells before rudys spells even went off and knew how to abridge the incantations. his spellcasting was as good as roxys with hundreds of years more experience than rudy. all the while rudy was holding back cause he didnt want to kill anyone or catch his friends in the crossfire. in the light novel he even managed to remove moores arm through a wall that moore casted to block rudys stone cannon
