It was 12:03 a.m. when I realized I was starving. I had just left my friend’s house and still had about twenty minutes before I got home. Then I saw the McDonald’s. The parking lot was completely empty. No cars. No people. Just the yellow arches glowing against the dark. I pulled in. Inside, one employee stood behind the counter. He looked about thirty. “Just you?” I asked. He nodded. “Kitchen’s still open.” I ordered a Big Mac and a drink. While I waited, I noticed he kept looking past me. Toward the dining room. Like someone was standing behind me. I turned around. Nothing. When I looked back, he was staring directly at me. “Bathroom’s down the hall,” he said. “I didn’t ask.” He didn’t answer. He walked through the door behind the counter. I heard his footsteps. Step. Step. Step. Then nothing. I waited five minutes. Then ten. The restaurant had become completely silent. I walked toward the counter. “Hello?” No answer. I looked through the opening. The kitchen was empty. The back door was closed. His hat was sitting on the floor. I called out again. “Hey?” Something moved behind me. I turned. The bathroom door was slowly opening. I froze. It stopped halfway. Then closed. I pulled out my phone. No service. That made no sense. I had full bars when I walked in. Then my phone vibrated. A text. From my own number. DON’T GO TO THE CAR. I stared at it. Another vibration. IT KNOWS YOU’RE HERE. I looked toward the windows. The parking lot was still empty. Then I heard footsteps. Step. Step. Step. They were coming from the kitchen. I backed away. A cabinet opened by itself. Then another. Then another. Something was walking through the kitchen. I couldn’t see it. But I could hear it. Step. Step. Step. I ran toward the front doors. They wouldn’t open. I pulled harder. Nothing. Then every light in the restaurant went out. My phone screen became the only light. And in that tiny glow, I saw someone standing at the end of the dining room. It was the employee. Except he was much taller than before. His arms hung almost to his knees. His head was tilted sideways. And his face was turned away from me. I whispered his name. He slowly turned. His face was blank. No eyes. No mouth. Just smooth skin. I screamed and slammed my shoulder into the door. It opened. I ran. I didn’t look back. I sprinted across the parking lot, unlocked my car, and threw myself inside. I locked the doors. Started the engine. Then I noticed something on the passenger seat. A McDonald’s receipt. I hadn’t been given one. My hands started shaking. At the top, it showed my order. Big Mac. Large fries. Large Coke. Then I saw the time. 12:03 a.m. Underneath it was another line. CUSTOMER: 1 I looked toward the restaurant. The front doors were still closed. Then my phone vibrated. A security camera photo appeared on the screen. It showed the inside of the McDonald’s. Me. Standing at the counter. Alone. Except for the employee behind me. And he wasn’t looking at the camera. He was looking directly at me. The timestamp on the picture said: 12:47 a.m. I looked at the dashboard clock. 12:19. Then something whispered from the back seat. “You’re late.” I drove. #creepy #scarystories #scary #fyp #HorrorTok
