As someone who was an ex-hotellier, you should be knocking on doors before you enter. It’s just a sign of respect before entering the room and to alert anyone who’s inside of your presence. This is done so they won’t be shocked if you suddenly intrude in their private space. Doesn’t matter if it’s for spirit or humans, it’s just simple decency. If you don’t like to knock you can ring the doorbell. 😂

I pay for the room. Why must I comply ? Any issue ask the ghost check with the hotel lobby reception or the manager on duty . I do encounter haunting twice in hotel room. One in KL and one in Philippines Makati .

all these warning comes from dynasty era u knock the door hotel room first if someone open the door or reply back u should change hotel... It is quite unsafe for traveller to seek hotel stay in dynasty era by horse caravan... sometimes, they had secret dealing in hotel room, u had accidentally open the door, saw hostage there or drug dealing on hotel room bed... by insider hotel staff..

I didn't knock when I check into a chalet room at Sentosa many years ago. I even purposely choose corner room for quite-ness. Nothing happen 😂
