Riley has had a really difficult week and we’ve spent a lot of time in hospital. I’ve thought about posting so many times. I’ve opened TikTok. I’ve started writing captions. I’ve taken photos. And then I’ve put my phone down again. Because as much as I love sharing the honest, messy parts of motherhood here, there are some moments that aren’t mine to turn into content. They’re his. Right now, my priority has been being his mum. Being beside him. Comforting him. Advocating for him. Holding him. And just getting through the week together. I don’t want to turn a difficult experience for my baby into a story for views or engagement. Maybe I’ll talk about it properly one day. Maybe I won’t. I’m still figuring that out. But I did want to explain why I’ve been quiet, because this little community has become such a meaningful part of my motherhood journey. Even when I haven’t been posting, I’ve still thought about all the mums here. The mums who have been awake with me at 3am. The mums who have sent hugs. The mums who have reminded me that I’m not the only one struggling through a difficult season. And honestly, I’ve needed that reminder this week too. Sometimes motherhood isn’t about documenting the moment. Sometimes it’s about putting your phone down and being completely present for it. So that’s where I’ve been. Quietly being Riley’s mum. And hopefully, when things feel a little more settled, I’ll be back here sharing the ordinary stuff again. The cuddles. The sleepless nights. The funny moments. The little wins. The completely mundane parts of motherhood that I’ve come to love sharing with you. For now, we’re taking it one day at a time. 🤍 And if you’re a mum who has ever disappeared from social media because real life suddenly needed all of you… I see you. You don’t owe the internet an update. You don’t have to turn every difficult experience into a lesson. Sometimes you can just be there for your baby. That’s enough. #motherhood #momcommunity #sleeplessnights
