About 10-12 years ago, I remember there was a horrible mine collapse that trapped multiple miners. The rescue started getting livestreams from all the news companies. No one knew if they were already gone or if they could be saved. Then a announcement was made that they were found safe & alive. But they were already gone before they were found. I often think about those loved ones & the agony of thinking they were safe only to find out it was entirely false.

I was at work and we saw the update in my lunch room and we were so relieved because so many of my team and I go on hikes near there too so it close to home. Then the second update mixup 😭 it’s still being talked about on my local news pages I cannot imagine the family members grief this way

As an Aussie my heart breaks for her family. It was a devastating misunderstanding. Her parents have come out and said they don’t blame the police or the premier of NSW who announced it (he isn’t a reporter he is the head politician of the state)
